Monday 13 November 2023: Round Table Talk and “Meet and Greet” with Jack Hues, lead singer and guitarist/composer of Wang Chung

Jack Hues will be featured in a 'round table talk' with Wouter Turkenburg (Ex. Dir. International Association of Schools of Jazz), Kurt Ellenberger (Professorial Fellow, Institute for Music Aesthetics, KUG) and André Doehring (Dir., Institute for Jazz Performance, KUG).

Jack Hues is the lead singer, guitarist, and composer of the iconic band Wang Chung, whose string of hits including Dance Hall Days and Everybody Have Fun Tonight made them one of the most successful bands of the 1980s. His writing throughout his career demonstrates wide-ranging interests in jazz and classical music, film music, literature, and philosophy. The discussion will focus on his music from his entire career, his myriad interdisciplinary influences, and his creative process and philosophy.

There will also be a Q&A where Jack Hues will field questions from the audience, and a “meet and greet” as well.
